The hardships faced by Hispanic Athletes in order to go to the Olympic Games are many more compared to those who live in Countries that win most of the medals.

We do not want to say that all, but in many Hispanic Countries , when a child outstands in any sport, you can be sure that almost no one cares.  These boys and girls, many times are malnutritioned and they train and compete in the worst of circumstances such as deficient installations and inadequate personal gear, for instance wearing the wrong sports shoes.

Nevertheless, our wonderful athletes persevere and go to different competitions with, sometimes, great trainers frustrated by the lack of support, and for the most time, paying their own expenses.  It is our wish here in Proudly Hispanic (Orgullosamente Hispano) to render a special recognition to these boys and girls, men and women, who always give their all and more. 

There is no Heart as big nor Spirit as courageous than those of our own Hispanic Athletes!

In the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, we will all be with you.

Las dificultades que enfrentan los atletas hispanos para poder llegar a una Olimpiada, multiplica su merito en comparacion con aquellos que viven en los paises que arrasan con las medallas.

No deseamos  generalizar porque seria injusto, pero en muchos paises hispanos, cuando un niño destaca en algun deporte, lo mas seguro es que a nadie le importe.  Estos niños, y niñas, muchas veces, no tienen la alimentacion adecuada y entrenan y compiten en las peores circunstancias como son  malas instalaciones, mal entrenamiento y pesimo equipo personal, por ejemplo: zapatos deportivos inadecuados.

Sin embargo, nuestros maravillosos atletas  perseveran y logran ir a diferentes competencias apoyados en ocasiones por excelentes entrenadores,  frustrados por la falta de apoyo, y pagandose sus propios gastos.

Es nuestro deseo, aqui en Orgullosamente Hispano,  hacerles un reconocimiento especial a estos muchachos y muchachas, hombres y mujeres, que cuando llegan a cualquier competencia, entregan todo lo que tienen y mas.  No hay corazon mas grande ni espiritu mas valeroso que el de nuestros atletas hispanos.

¡En los Juegos Olimpicos de Beijing 2008, estamos con ustedes!

Julio fue un mes muy exitoso y completo.  Tuvimos emocionantes eventos como el triunfo de Carlos Sastre en el Tour de France, Rafael Nadal en su continua escalada al primer lugar y hasta, con su debida proporción pero no menos importante, el triunfo del equipo de futbol Zorros de Comitán, en el torneo estatal de Chiapas.  Tuvimos la Pamplonada en la Fiesta de San Fermín así como una nota muy interesante sobre Rafting y muchos más.  Lo mejor es que hemos recibido visitas a nuestro Blog de tan lejos como Australia, Europa y todo América.

Tenemos grandes planes para agosto; recuerden que vienen las Olimpíadas del 2008 en Beijing, China.  Sus comentarios y sugerencias son muy bienvenidos y, desde luego, nos encantará saber de ustedes.

July was a very full and successful month for us.  There were exciting events like Carlos Sastre winning the Tour de France and Rafael Nadal steadily climbing to #1 in a succession of triumphs, and even in a small measure, the football team Zorros de Comitán and their victory in their State.  We had Pamplona and running with the bulls, plus a very interesting post about rafting and several others as well.   And best of all, we have had visitors to our Blog from as far as Australia as well as Europe and all of America.

We have great plans for August, remember that we will be having the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and welcome any suggestions, comments and, of course, we´d love to hear from you!
