Exposicion Picasso Luna

Carlos es sin duda un talentoso pintor de fama Internacional que ha realizado exposiciones
tanto individuales como colectivas en México, Estados Unidos y Europa.

Ahora nos invita a su exposición Piccaso Luna que presenta piezas de cerámica de Picasso
a la par con pinturas de Carlos y se realizará a partir del Martes 18 de Agosto
en el Complejo Cultural Universitario. Si estás en Puebla el Martes 18 – la Inauguración 7:30 p.m

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) es uno de los verdaderos gigantes en la historia
del arte. Su obra rompió barreras, causo controversia y ha influenciado
artistas por generaciones.

Las pinturas de Luna reflejan el gusto de Picasso por el folklore y la
mitología. Esta exhibición explora el genio de Picasso, su imaginación creativa
y sus raíces españolas, las cuales han sido de profundo impacto para Luna y
otros artistas latinos.

El poderoso simbolismo del trabajo de Carlos Luna, con su compendio
de rustica imagineria cubana, uso grafico de texto y dramática narrativa
hace par con sus expertas composiciones, brillante coloración y sus
meticulosas superficies, creadas por un proceso que alterna la superposición
de capas con el raspado y lijado de las mismas.

El trabajo resultante exuda una sensación de antigua sabiduría mientras que
proyecta una presencia vital y muscular que es al mismo tiempo atemporal y fresca.

Patricia Brandes – Artist of the Month

It is an honor to be able to show you the work of our Artist of the Month, Patricia Brandes, who has shown her deep artistic sensibility through each and every one of the projects.

Patricia began very early in her life taking classes in ceramics and porcelain. Because of her good taste and ability to work with her hands, she has made unmatchable works of art and beauty with wood, tin and porcelain, all of this added to her excellence in painting with oils, tempera and acryllics. She combines her life as an artist teaching art, decorating homes and planning gardens of unbeatable beauty.

Artists of the Month – A Promising Future

We want to share with you a visit we made to Suzukids in Puebla, Mexico, where a group of young violinists and artists dedicate themselves to help children develop, from a very young age, their abilities for music. Their speciality is the violin and the children are taught to love and care for this wonderful instrument.

We have shot some impromptu videos to show you the technique used by these remarkable teachers where children learn to use all of their senses to capture the beauty of music. Nothing was rehearsed…it is completely authentic.

Wouldn´t it be great if all children of the World could receive this kind of stimulus?

Pasión y entrega a la pintura y escultura, más un increíble talento, describe a la perfección a nuestra Artista del Mes, Guadalupe Herrada.

Visiten nuestra entrevista y podrán percatarse de la apasionada forma en que nuestra Artista del Mes nos describe su trayectoria académica dentro de las artes. Guadalupe Herrada es una mujer que siempre se ha esforzado por encontrar a grandes maestros que la guíen y la inspiren a ser siempre mejor. Podemos ver a una artista segura de su estilo y de sus logros.

Por cierto, dentro de la entrevista nos menciona a una modelo, ya entrada en años, que tuvo cuando estudiaba en una academia de arte en la ciudad de Nueva York. Esta mujer tuvo el honor de ser modelo del gran artista del Impresionismo, Degas. Interesante, ¿verdad?

Jose Pellegrin Romero – Artist of the Month

It is undeniable that a young talent develops better when nurtured with the love and unconditional support of a family wise enough to guide it to a positive goal. This is reflected in the talent and ease in which this remarkable boy moves in the artistic world and whom we are pleased to appoint as our Artist of the Month, Jose Pellegrin Romero.

I have been personally captivated by his personal charm and intelligence, and after seeing the wonderful support he has received from his family, I have asked Norma Cortes Caballero, our Artist of the Month of December, to write us a few lines with her special thoughts and feelings towards this special boy, her grandson.

Friends, remember him, José Pellegrin Romero, our Artist of the Month.

“Who is José Pellegrin Romero?

He is the third of my eight grandchildren and has always shown his taste for the fine arts besides being a good friend of Nature as he cares and nurtures over 80 different species of orchids.

He was born and bred among brushes, easels, paints and artists, as he has been by my side for a great part of his life as we both enjoy being together and painting in my studio. He loves to experiment, feel and combine any amount of materials.

He has always shown a special sensitivity towards color and through it he develops any project that goes through his mind. He loves the work of Leonardo Nierman and in sculpture he is impressed by the work of Sergio Bustamante and Edna Ferrigno. Whatever he can learn about art absorbs him in a way that I love.

I can say that I am grateful to life for the privilege of living with a human being who has taught me that when you think that there is nothing more, he has shown me that there are no impossibles”.

Yvette Chain – Artist of the Month

Passionately in love with photography, Yvette Chain, our Artist of the Month, enjoys capturing the essence of a person, some special moment, place, and more, conveying in one single photograph a certain feeling that can be food to the soul.

Her life has been devoted to the study of photography which involves diverse artistic and commercial aspects taking her on a very long trip from Mexico to Buenos Aires, Argentina in her quest to encounter academic excellence. In Argentina she took a Masters Degree in Fashion Photography also enrolling in the Argentinian Photographers Association School FOP mastering in: Lighting, Product Photography, Publicity Portrait, and Fashion Photography and ending with a course in Digital Photography Retouch.

Yvette Chain, our Artist of the Month hopes that her photographs may one day reach every corner of the Earth, and that one image will be able to express a feeling to those who view it.

Norma Cortés Caballero – Artist of the Month

We are closing our first year with an extraordinary woman and artist, Norma Cortés Caballero. A woman of many talents who has never settled but has allways tried to be better in all aspects of her life. After raising a family she went to college to study Law, graduating with distinction. She continues to practice Law, side by side with her husband who is a distinguished lawyer himself and who continues to be her biggest fan and supporter.

We are honored to bring to you a small sample of the work of this artist who, for the second year in a row, has won the 1st. Place in the Watercolor Show which took place in the Artist´s Quarter in Puebla, Mexico. This prize has the added honor of having been voted by her fellow artists!

But do not think that her sole talent lies in watercolors as she has some wonderful paintings done with mixed tecniques, oils and acryllics, too. And what about her portraits? All equally well executed!

Reina Nuñez – Costa Rican Artist

We are happy to share with you a sample of the work of Reina Nuñez who is a frequent visitor to our blog and who has taken several art courses in the University of Costa Rica.

Under the guidance of Evelyn Garrido, an excellent art teacher, the pupils in this course have taken a new direction in their lives proving that it is never too late to develop your artistic abilities. We hope to bring you a sample of their end of year work.

Zábeliz – Artist of the Month

Impossible to define this great artist! She is the embodiment of wonderful qualities: talent, sensibility, expression, depth…all of this supported by years of study and dedication, always seeking for perfection. Her work is unique and transcends time-space.

Her paintings are poems and her poems become masterpieces. We are always surprised by our artist, Zábeliz, Ma. Carmen Zabaleta Elizondo.

In May we showed you her creation: Sinestesia – Art for the Visually Impaired. This exhibition has already been in several cities in Mexico and it is about to leave for Europe, starting in Madrid, Spain. There is no doubt that where there is talent, any endeavor becomes a success.

We have recently and by chance seen her photographic art. We are in the process of convincing her to let us share it with you. We know you will enjoy viewing a small part of her work.
