Good parenting is the clue for successful and happy children, but sadly in many countries the father´s role is highly  underrated and  misunderstood.  He is supposed to be the head of the family, the main provider and, what is worse,  he is expected to be the one to discipline his kids with punishment and often times by spanking or belting them.  How many times is he welcomed home after a hard day at work with complaints about his kids?  This is most unfair.

Speaking from a woman´s point of view, we need our father´s full approval in order to hold our own in a World were half of the population are male.  Our Dad is the first man in our life; his unquestioned approval  will help us like and love ourselves and what is more important, to demand respect from others.

Sons tend to repeat their father´s behaviour.  So a good example will create a new generation of good  husbands, fathers,  friends and citizens.

To all those fathers whose goal is to have honest, hard-working, respectful and loving children, we send our warmest  wishes for a very happy Father´s Day.

Tlaloc Dios de la Lluvia

Durante los siglos 15 y 16 cuando los Aztecas vivían en la zona centro de México, entre sus muchas deidades Tlaloc tenía una gran importancia.  En la Mitología Azteca Tlaloc era el Dios de la Lluvia.

Los Aztecas le temían  ya que creían que él usaba sus rayos para enfermar a la gente y aún cuando tenía el poder de darle vida a las plantas también tenía el poder de la destrucción total.

A Tlaloc se le representaba usando una red de nubes, una corona de plumas de Herón y cargando cascabeles para poder producir el ruido de los relámpagos.

Se dice que tenía 4 jarras de agua:  la primera hacía que las plantas crecieran; la segunda causaba destrozos; la tercera traía heladas;  y la cuarta podía destruir completamente todo y a todos.

En la entrada del Museo de Antropología e Historia de la Ciudad de México se encuentra un enorme monolito de Tlaloc en exhibición,  Si visitan esta ciudad no se vayan sin conocer a Tlaloc el Dios Azteca de la Lluvia.
